Boutique Resort Concept | Hospitality Architecture
Chandika – The House of the Horizon is envisioned as a terrain-responsive boutique retreat where architecture emerges directly from the contours of the land. Set along a dramatic coastal slope, the design is guided by climate, orientation, and uninterrupted views of the ocean and valley beyond. The building aligns east–west to optimize light and prevailing winds, unfolding in terraced volumes that cascade gently with the terrain. Cantilevered suites and layered outdoor spaces create visual lightness while framing panoramic horizons, allowing every space to remain deeply connected to the landscape.
At the heart of the retreat, a sky-lit central lobby becomes a quiet gathering space where light, air, and movement converge. Guest zones are thoughtfully separated from service areas to preserve experiential calm, while the arrival sequence is choreographed to gradually reveal the ocean through framed vistas. Earthy material palettes, expansive glazing, and tactile surfaces establish a grounded yet refined atmosphere. Chandika is conceived not merely as a destination, but as an immersive architectural experience — one that balances structure and nature, offering a serene retreat shaped by land, light, and horizon.
